Kirk Holmes named to ISO 15504 Enteprise SPICE Advisory Board

Holmes and Associates is pleased to announce that Kirk Holmes, founder and CEO, has been named to the Advisory Board for the the international standardization initiative known as Enterprise SPICE.   Enterprise SPICE is an initiative to establish an integrated, standards-based process assessment model for use with international standard ISO/IEC 15504 ("SPICE").  

It is believed that Enterprise SPICE will help drive innovation, quality, efficiency, and increased effectiveness in all public and private sectors of the global economy.

One of the big problems I've seen with IT organizations is a focus on the wrong things.  I am a big proponent of best practice programs.  One of my favorites is the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).  ITIL has been around for decades but has been more slowly adopted in the USA than other countries. Unfortunately, there are many people who think it is a panacea and a solution in and of itself.  It is not.
